This bed came in three 60~70lb boxes. It was very well packaged with plastic corners on the boxes to protect them from damage. There were a few minor quality control issues but nothing too serious. Many of the parts were either not labeled or not properly labeled which was confusing but manageable. Be warned there are 0 spare parts included. No extra screws, wrenches, dowels. If you mess up or lose a screw, you’re out of luck. Would be nice if the manufacturer would include 3 of each hardware piece as a spare. They say not to use power tools but I used and impact drill and I’m glad I did because this would’ve been totally impractical to assemble by hand. Many of the screw holes were not totally drilled out which required a great deal of force to put together. If you get the one I have, you can put the stairs on either side. They don’t have to match what the instructions say.I would have preferred to see some way to hide the screws on the front because they look pretty bad, but if you squint it’s mint.Overall I’m pretty satisfied with this purchase- took me about 5 hours to fully assemble- with many distractions, shiny things, and squirrels commanding my attention. So your mileage may vary.I am not really a fan of the wood slats being visible to the bottom bunk occupant so I intend to cover that up with some black fabric, stapled to the upper runners. This is a good product that won’t break the bank, but might break your back putting together. The instructions were decent quality- no text to read, just illustrations. Which worked fine for me.Can’t wait to see how exited my kids are when they see it.
